Events: Examining the Future of China-Southeast Asia Relations
On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, the Asian Studies Program in partnership with the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues convened a small group of Southeast Asian and American scholars to discuss the future of regional engagement with China. A select group of graduate students from the Master of Arts in Asian Studies Program also participated in the dialogue. The conversation addressed three key topics: Chinese policies and strategies toward Southeast Asia, Southeast Asian reactions to Chinese policies and behaviors, and the role of the United States in China-Southeast Asia dynamics and recommendations for the incoming Biden administration.
