School of Medicine - Fourth Year Elective in Lesotho
This elective focuses on the exposure and understanding of HIV/AIDS pandemic through interpersonal relationships, clinical experience, participation in the efforts of a local non-governmental organization. Students join outreach efforts to remote villages, participate in the daily care of the acutely sick and malnourished children, and observe clinical approach to the treatment of HIV, TB and malnutrition in the setting of severe poverty and health disparity.
