Oriana Skylar Mastro
School of Foreign Service
Oriana Skylar Mastro is an assistant professor of security studies in the Center for Security Studies and the Asian Studies Program in the School of Foreign Service. She is also a member of the faculty committees for the Georgetown India Initiative and the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues. She joined the Georgetown faculty in 2013.
International activities include:
- Captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, senior China analyst, Pentagon
- Contributor to U.S.-China security and defense issues through positions at the American Enterprise Institute, Council on Foreign Relations, Center for a New American Security, U.S. Pacific Command, U.S. Department of Defense, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the RAND Corporation
- Recipient of the Asia Foundation Faculty Research Grant on the Domestic Dimensions of China, the 2016-2017 Council on Foreign Relations Stanton Nuclear Fellowship, and the Jeane Kirkpatrick Scholar position at the American Enterprise Institute
