At an intimate in-person event, Professor Li Xiaoyun of China Agricultural University discussed development learning in China-Africa engagements. As author of over 20 books and 200 papers, his work on international development and aid, participatory poverty reduction, and sustainable resource management has had extensive policy influence in China. The pioneer of “simple technology, big harvest” and “small beans, big nutrition”—a China-Tanzania poverty reduction program—he shared his extensive knowledge and thoughts on China-Africa development cooperation.
