Call for Applications: 2025-2026 U.S.-China Student Dialogue
The Georgetown University Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues is accepting applications for its 2025-26 student dialogue program. The application deadline is October 7, 2025.
The U.S.-China Student Dialogue brings Georgetown students together with peers at leading Chinese universities, first on Zoom and then in person in China, for in-depth conversations about critical issues and ways forward in the U.S.-China relationship. This year the initiative is sponsoring two dialogues: one with Peking University (November-March) and another with Tsinghua University (March-May).
Each program will feature a cohort of 12-15 Georgetown students and begin with four Zoom sessions dedicated to critical issues in U.S.-China relations, including climate change, global governance, peace and security, technology, business and trade, and people-to-people exchange. The online dialogues will give Georgetown students an opportunity to get to know their Chinese peers and to map out joint projects. The work will culminate in a Georgetown-funded, week-long study tour in China, giving students the opportunity to deepen the dialogue with peers at leading Chinese universities, develop joint policy analyses and proposals, and meet with leaders from the academic, business, and government sectors.
Requirements
- All current Georgetown graduate students, seniors, juniors, and sophomores that are in good academic standing are eligible to apply.
- Participants must participate in all four Zoom sessions and the China trip in the spring.
- Participants will submit two 500-word reflections (one before and one after the China trip), which may be featured on the initiative’s website and publications.
