Geng Zhao
Beijing Foreign Studies University
Geng Zhao was a senior at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) majoring in Romanian studies and economics during her time as a 2019-2020 student fellow in the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues Student Fellows program.
- Won a 2017 national government scholarship to study at the University of Bucharest for one year.
- Served as 2018-2019 president of the Student Association at the School of European Languages and Cultures and founded “Lean In” college women’s community in BFSU.
- Completed internships at Yale Center Beijing, Chinese Embassy in Romania, and Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy.
- Volunteered at the World Peace Forum, “Belt and Road Initiative” Summit, and a refugee camp.
