The rapid spread of the coronavirus since the start of 2020 has seized the attention of the global community. Scientists are grappling to understand the virus and its transmission mechanisms, and health policy officials in China and around the world are seeking to care for its victims and contain its spread.

The Georgetown University Global Health Initiative convened scientific and policy experts Jennifer Huang Bouey, Rebecca Katz, John Monahan, and Erin Sorrell to examine these linked challenges and how best to address them in the weeks and months ahead.

This event was co-sponsored by Georgetown University's Global Health Initiative, Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues, and the Asian Studies Program in the Walsh School of Foreign Service.
