Peng Guoxiang

Peng Guoxiang is the Qiu Shi Distinguished Professor of Chinese Philosophy, Intellectual History and Religions and director of the Ma Yifu International Center for the Studies in Humanities at Zhejiang University. He was a professor at Peking University and Tsinghua University and a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Peng is a co-convener of the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues Research Group on Cosmopolitanism.
- Held the 2016 Kluge Chair in Countries and Cultures of the North at the United States Library of Congress.
- Received the 2009 Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Humboldt Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Research in Germany.
- Served as the president of the International Society for Comparative Studies of Chinese and Western Philosophy (ISCWP, USA).
- Served as a board member of the International Confucian Association, the China Confucius Foundation, and the Society of the History of Chinese Philosophy.
