Philip Kafalas

Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures

Philip Kafalas is an associate professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures in the College of Arts & Sciences, and a member of the faculty committee for the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues. He joined the Georgetown faculty in 1997.

International activities include:

  • Published In Limpid Dream: Nostalgia and Zhang Dai's Reminiscences of the Ming (2007).
  • Teaching and research interests center on classical and pre-modern Chinese literature, as well as advanced modern Chinese language.
