William Pizer

Billy Pizer is a professor at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University. His current research examines public policies to promote clean energy, the impact of environmental regulation and climate policy on economic competitiveness, and the design of market-based environmental policies. He is a participant in the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues faculty research group on climate change.
- Served as deputy assistant secretary for environment and energy in the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2008 to 2011.
- Served as senior economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers from 2001 to 2002.
