Jennifer Huang Bouey

Jennifer Huang Bouey is the chair of the Department of Global Health at the School of Health, where she is a tenured Professor. Her academic affiliations also include professorship at the Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) program at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and RAND Graduate School of Public Policy. A member of the faculty committee for the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues, she joined the Georgetown faculty in 2005.

Major international activities include:

  • Principal investigator on NIH-funded projects “Sexual Health among Low-Income Female CSW in China” (NICHD R21) and “Risks for HIV/STIs and Their Psychological Correlates among Chinese MSM” (NICHD R01-subcontract); co-investigator of an NIH-sponsored pilot project on "HIV among African migrants in China" (2016-2017).
  • Member of NIH research review committees, including: NIDA/NIH committee “HIV/AIDS implementation Science targeting Drug use Populations: A collaboration with PEPFAR” (2011); Forgarty grants (2011-2016).
  • Author of over 120 peer-reviewed articles and policy reports on global health.
  • Invited to provide expert testimony four times on China's public health and health system before the US House committees.
  • Distinguished Chair, Tang Chair for China Policy Studies, RAND Corporation (2019-present)
